Patrick Emmenegger

Centre for Welfare State Research, University of Southern Denmark

I am a political scientist at the Department of Political Science and the Centre for Welfare State Research, University of Southern Denmark. My research interests include comparative welfare state research, labour market politics, immigration, religion and macro-comparative research methods.

In 2010, I have been awarded a grant of 1.5 mio. DKK and the title ‘young elite researcher’ by the Danish Council for Independent Research for the project ‘The Politics of Job Security Regulations in industrialized Western democracies’. The project analyzes the historical development of job security regulations over a period of more than 100 years in eight Western European countries (Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland). A book based on this research is going to be published in the second half of 2012.
